I really like this tv but after a week we noticed a background humming sound. According to posts online it has to do with the backlighting. Very annoying. Also, hear regular popping and crackling sounds. When we turn it off at night it crackles and pops for about 1 hour! I’m returning this. Internet apps are sweet but not worth this level of shoddy quality.

There’s a saying that the enemy of the best is good enough. This TV is definitely a bang-for-the-buck purchase. The TV picture is just stunning that most ordinary people will find this TV wonderful. Unfortunately, I’m not most people. I have a media PC that worked fine with the large screen rear projector TV that the Vizio replaced–and with a DVI-to-HDMI converter, I was expecting a truly stunning result. And from a picture perspective, I got it; the 1920×1080 desktop was crystal clear. The problem was that after the TV warmed up a bit, it started making this annoying and continuous ticking sound. With a little experimentation, I found that it was refresh related–if I set the computer at 60HZ, it ticks once a second… if I set it at 30HZ it’s about once every two seconds. It didn’t matter which HDMI input I used, the ticking persisted… but ONLY with computers hooked up to the HDMI ports at 1920×1080. It didn’t happen on TV, composite or AV ports. So I returned the TV and got a replacement. Same problem. I decided to keep the TV because it is so feature rich–and I use the TV’s RGB connector to the media PC instead of those ticking HDMI ports. I’m still quite pleased with the result which is why I give this TV 3 stars. If Vizio ever fixes the HDMI issues, this TV would rate six!

Picture jumps around a bit. For the money this tv was not as good as most reviews had stated. I selected the 240GHZ as I thought this would make the transition smoother. I hav enot as yet hooked it up to antennae or cable or sattelite, just ran my dvd with it. Picture is just jumpy so far. Tried a differnt dvd player and seems to work better but still jumps. I do smell burning or hot plastic while it run. I am waiting to hook it up to sattelite dish before I make a final determination to send it back. My recomendation is to hang on to the original box for a while as you may need it particularly if it has to be shipped back to Amazon. The Vizio I wanted that costco used to carry and I saw at thier store seems to have been discontinued. It was a 120GHZ and I believe it to be a much better TV>

Second Vizio I have purchased. Have had this TV for about 4 weeks- really, really nice. Great resolution, very sharp. Great sound. Easy mounting, very lightweight. Extremely easy setup. Cool features, including VIA and the internet widgets, especially weather and NetFlix. Keyboard on the slide up remote has pretty small keys – but don’t realy use it frankly so not a big deal.

No tax and free shipping on Amazon gave the advantage over brick & mortar (plus I hattttttttte Best Buy and thier forged in hell “customer service.”)

We bought this TV at [...] for less then amazon.com, with free ship-to-store shipping. It replaced a 35″ Sony Tube TV that died… We have had it about 3 weeks now and LOVE it!

It was very easy to set up, just take it out of the box and plug it in! The picture is clear and can be seen from a wide range. The Internet Apps work great as well. We love that you can customize which apps show up. You can even have profiles, so each family member can customize the apps to their preferences and tie them to their accounts (IE: Pandora, Netflix, etc).

The remote is bluetooth and has a full qwerty keyboard, but the TV also allow you to use a universal infrared signal remote.

It has a lot of features, but if you don’t like them, you can turn them off… for example we did turn off the sound suppression, it was annoying. But we really like how it cleans up the digital artifacts of low res video signals.

You will need a High Speed internet connection in order to view streaming content on the TV (IE: Netflix).

This TV is a great value for the price!
