Soapbox is dead

Soapbox is not as famous as Youtube, but it gains its popularity because it was owned by Microsoft. Soapbox provided the same functionality as Youtube, it was built up by user generated video content. But now, Microsoft has axed it.

However, users don’t be too upset, because Microsoft actually shifted the entire project to MSN Video! So, Soapbox now is part of MSN video service. All the video that originally on Soapbox will be tag as “Soapbox User Videos”.

You will also notice on MSN video, there will be similar Soapbox interface. And the encoded speed is much faster. Overall, I think MSN video beta is doing a great job.
