Firefox 3 Alpha 6

By Korabi On July 7, 2007 Under Firefox

I have using Firefox since maybe 2, 3 years ago, after Microsoft Internet Explorer had been giving me quite a lot of problem on the security issues. At that time almost weekly, my spybot detection software alerted me regarding the advertiser cookies and malicious ActiveX had hijacked my browser. Only until Firefox came out, this browser and its extensions have been such a big improvement to my daily net surfing experience.

So years later, now Firefox is undergoing the 3rd version development. And Firefox team has set the milestone for the beta1 release for Firefox 3 by 31st of July. By now, Firefox has completed Alpha 6, also the last Alpha stage, few days ago. Below several new changes:

  • A new Quit dialog box that resolves termination errors
  • Added permanent ‘Restart Firefox’ button to Add-Ons Manager
  • Miscellaneous fixes to download manager including correctly displaying large file sizes
  • Various Places fixes
  • Miscellaneous Gecko 1.9 bug fixes
