Microsoft is releasing out free antivirus software â€“ Microsoft Security Essential. Previously, this product was coded name â€œMorroâ€, is to replace the previous Microsoft paid services – Live OneCare.

Although, Microsoft has renamed it to Security Essential, this sounds nothing to do like antivirus software. But in fact, it is a free antivirus and not sure how this will impact to the Antivirus market.

I just hope WiMax can gain their popularity as fast as possible. Like that, we could online anywhere we like and do not anymore rely on the Wifi hotspot anymore. For those who do not what is WiMax, it is actually a long range Wifi that can cover few kilometers.

But at the moment, since there is no WiMax around yet. Whisher is WiFi connection sharing application. It aims to build a global WiFi network by sharing out your extra network connection. Apple’s Safari not that safe as you think

Just while Apple is busying release patch for 25 vulnerabilities in OSX, a hacker, Dino Di Zovie, managed to break into Safari browser and win $10k prize. Even though, Apple always announced how secure is their computer, but eventually, it is not true. Just because Mac is a small market, seldom hackers want to just create a small impact to public.

Dino Di Zovie, who lives in New York, sent along a URL that exposed the hole. Because the contest was only open to attendees in Vancouver, he sent it to a friend who was at the conference and forwarded it on. The URL opened a blank page but exposed a vulnerability in input handling in Safari which allowed an attacker to use the vulnerability in a number of ways, but Di Zovie used it to open a back door that gave him access to anything on the computer. The vulnerability won’t be published. 3Com’s TippingPoint division will handle disclosing it to Apple. The prize for the contest was originally one of the Macs but on Thursday evening, TippingPoint put up the cash award, which may have spurred a wider interest in the contest.

I remember the last time I uninstalled Norton Antivirus is due to the computer resources it consumed, especially the infamous Norton Antivirus 2006. But finally Norton Antivirus has released the latest 2007 version. After the developer has rewritten the core code, this time it is “lighter” and lesser resources is taken. The retail price is USD 39.90, it is much cheaper compare to the antivirus on market. The antivirus market has been quite competitive, even Microsoft’s OneCare get their foot in.

Whatever the price tag is, there is always crack software out there. Same as the crack method used in Norton Antivirus 2004, seem that Symantec did not come out with a revolutionary method to prevent being cracked yet. Or maybe this is a very serious loophole where even Symantec nor Microsoft can avoid -the phone activation method.

Using the keygen software, it will first generate a serial number for user to install the software first. After that, user need to unplug their cable to let Norton assume there is no access of network for the pc. Eventually, user need to use the keygen to generate a series of unlock code corresponding to the hardware code generated by the antivirus activation system.

Those who often use XP internal Chinese Input should definitely change to Google Pinyin. I have tested it and it is fabulous! It has a good responsive time which is 10 times quicker than XP one. Besides, it has some special features like smarter sentence building and popular words. The popular words is getting update from the top latest keywords from internet.

Some of the users have the habit of typing English and Chinese at the same time. Google understands this and add in a neat user-friendly functions where users do not need to switch back to English input method to key in English.

But of cause, there are plenty of voices said that Google is copying another Chinese famous search engine Chinese Input method – Sogou Pinyin Input Method. While I have tried it, I did find out there is a lot similarities and even the database would have some “similarity”. By typing the developers name of Sogou, you can find it in Google’s too?! Isn’t this obvious some plagiarist.

From the past 20 yrs, it has been a lot of great Operating System appeared in the computer industry. Today the PC World has listed out the top 10 operating system which they think which have the greatest impact to the development of the OS.

Of course, Microsoft would surely said the greatest OS is the one yet to come – Windows Vista. Nay! In my opinion, Windows Vista is using up way too much PC resources just to give users the great visualization. But compare back to Apple’s Mac OS X, it still competent with it.

Among the top 10 list selected by PC World, I’m a typical PC user so would only have the chance to use MS-DOS 3.0, Windows 3.11, Windows95, Windows2000 and LindowsOS.
