TorrentSpy has carried on ordered to pay $110 million decent by government in Los Angeles. The site was discovered guilty on the objections of the copyright infringement of numerous movie lofts represented by the MPAA. This default judgment is the result of an regular court situation between the MPAA and Valence Media, TorrentSpy owner Justin Bunnel’s company, too began the first part of 2006. It is dangerous at right now rank whether TorrentSpy plans to appeal.

In 2006 TorrentSpy was a good amount of popular as opposed to any !no! BitTorrent site, but presently transformed swiftly in August 2007, when a government judge ordered TorrentSpy to log all user data. The judge ruled the TorrentSpy had to monitor its users in form to fashion detailed logs of such a activities, and hand such in to the MPAA.

Today, Apple CEO Steve Jobs posted an open letter on their web site mentioning that Apple will release a SDK for iPhone and iPod Touch. Let me explain SDK stands for software development kit. It is a tool to let software developers to develop applications based on the standard example and API released by the suppliers. Without the SDK, software developers will not have the proper platform to develop software, but they could do it by illegally hack into the system.

So, hacking isn’t what Apple wants to see, they also can’t any stand the pressure from the community. With the SDK, more cool software will be released in the next 6 months, which would definitely boost the sales of iPhone.

Sunday 7 October 2007 @ 4:12 pm

skype_logo Skype was acquired by Ebay in late 2005 for $2.6 billion. Till recently, Skype CEO also co-founder Niklas Zennstrom will step down. However, he will still become non-executive chairman of the board of directors.

This is clearly that Ebay is unhappy with the revenue performance of Skype. The expected revenue is $1.7 billion, but Skype could hardly meet the target and settled for just $530 million. It is just 1/3 of the total amount.

Currently, Skype have 220 million registered users, it has steadily grown 94 percent compared to the same quarter in 2006.

Thai Government Lifts Ban on YouTube

Saturday 1 September 2007 @ 10:49 pm

It has been a long time, my Thai friends have not visit Youtube. Since last April, Thailand government had imposed ban on YouTube and restricted ISP to connect to YouTube. Although there are still plenty way you could break through the restriction easily by proxy or other video sharing sites.

The main reason behind the ban is because a controversial clips of shoes with soles pointed towrds the king’s image. To the thai, this is considered as extremely offensive. But, does this ban lifted means Thai visitors can visit the clips again? No, obviously Youtube have modified their script to prevent Thai users to access to those controversial clips anymore.

Mexico’s Carlos Richest Man on Earth

Wednesday 18 July 2007 @ 12:49 am

Carlos Slim Helu

Microsoft’s founder Bill Gates isn’t the richest man on earth anymore. Mexico’s tycoon Carlos Slim Helu has overtaken Bill Gates with 67.84billion of fortune. Carlos has a great influence over the telecommunications industry in Mexico. Earlier in April, he is 3 billion behind of Bill Gates. But just after months later, he has rapidly gained ahead of Bill Gates. This is because of the 27% surge of his cellphone operating business in America Movil.

I still wonder how he manage to surpass those billionaires like Warren Buffett, Paul Allen, George Lindemann and etc.
