Google Chrome Beats Safari on Mac

Apple always love to boost how fast their browser is, they so called the fastest browser on planet. I donâ€™t love their cocky way of marketing method either. Recently the latest javascript benchmark using SunSpider and V8 shows that Chrome nightly is faster than Safari 4.0.1 on Mac!

Yeah, way to go Google Chrome! For Firefox, seem you have a long way to go.

Two days ago, Google was having a big update of the Page Rank algorithm. From what we observed, many famous web sites have a great fall from the new algorithm. But, more people wonder whether it is really just the changes of algorithm. Or, it is some sort of punishment towards those web sites that buying links or selling links.

Gmail 6GB in January 2008

What web mail you have been using recently? Hotmail is still having the most registered user in the world, but i highly doubt that how many friends around me actually using it. However with Yahoo infinite storages and Hotmail increase to 5GB of mail storages. Now, Gmail becomes the least amount of free storage.

Now, Google has started to increase the speed of gmail storage. So, in just a month from now, you will get 4GB of storage. Then it slows down again. By 8th of January in 2008, you will have 6GB of storage for your gmail. The rate will be 3.3MB/day. That is 10 times of the current rate.

By the end of 2008, gmail storage will be 7.5GB.

Iphone came out with a 599 bucks price tag, finally yesterday Apple announced the new Ipod Touch. It is totally a phoneless Iphone and the price is 299. The Iphone price has drop 200 dollars to 399 only. But now the hottest discussion is about Google new phone.

Rumors said that Google started the project with a mobile company called Android. The operating system is Linux and will announce around this September. Although we still have not heard any news from Google yet. Google is a software company, but the first attempt into the cellphone market.

Thai Government Lifts Ban on YouTube

It has been a long time, my Thai friends have not visit Youtube. Since last April, Thailand government had imposed ban on YouTube and restricted ISP to connect to YouTube. Although there are still plenty way you could break through the restriction easily by proxy or other video sharing sites.

The main reason behind the ban is because a controversial clips of shoes with soles pointed towrds the king’s image. To the thai, this is considered as extremely offensive. But, does this ban lifted means Thai visitors can visit the clips again? No, obviously Youtube have modified their script to prevent Thai users to access to those controversial clips anymore.

I think everyone should beware of a new phishing email sending in by the name of Google. It said that it will upgrade your account to 100GB in the next 24 hours by clicking the embedded link. What it actually does is redirect you to a very Gmail similar like web site – gmailupgrades.com and request you to login with your Gmail account.

Although this site was brought down already, but not sure how many victims have actually signed in that web site. Now, hurry immediately change your passwords on Google Account Management web site.

According to Google Multi-User Chat?, Gmail actually is secretly coming up with some action. From their translators, we discovered that some special features is coming soon.

Show last login time
Email incline graphics
Slide show for attachment
Allow AIM compatibility in Gmail
Allow multi-user chat in one chat room

Although, this is some minor features, but we still expect to see more coming out from Google.

Google has expanded their power of search into U.S Patent searching. The latest Google service – Google Patents search a total of 7 millions patents from the year of 1790 to the present.

The interface is similar to the earlier controversial Google Book Search. I love Google because they always bring up somethings new that other search engines have not think of it.
