MSI has finally announced the EEE PC killer - Wind. MSI Wind will go for under $500 and will be on the market in June. What cool about Wind compare to Asus EEE PC is the 10 inch screen with resolution up to 1024×600 pixel and 80GB HDD. Besides that, MSI Wind is adopting Intel latest UMPC processor ATOM with 1 ~ 1.6Ghz.

Wind comes in two OS version, XP and Linux Novell version. However, Linux Novell will aim for a lower price and a lower spec. So, if 512MB RAM and lower battery life is alright for you, then you can buy the XP. The dimension of Wind is 10.23" x 7.08" x 0.748" ~ 1.24" and the weight is 2.3lbs for Linux and 2.6lbs for XP. I guess the main different of the weight is just the battery capacity.

As an end user, we sometimes don’t really understand why there is region lock on our DVD player. It is called lightmare, but I think its name due to the difficulty of figure out the actual time. Unless you have extra time and money for it, else this is just a fancy gadget which is not suitable for all.
